Koralia Line Updated, Magnum More Enticing

The new Hydor Koralia line has been introduced.  There's an unboxing here  and a preview here.  What I've noticed about these pumps are the features they share with the Koralia Magnum that can be had for $100 or less online.  I didn't realize that the Magnums had advanced features that are, in my experience, very much missing in the first generation Koralias.
  • They can be used on a wavemaker because of the "soft start" circuitry
  • They have a better flow spread (not the "V" pattern so common in the 1st gen)
  • Less likely to fail because of shaft redesign (I've been through many Koralia Pumps)
I'm not positive, but it really seems that the Koralia Evolution pumps are smaller versions of the previously introduced Koralia Magnum pumps.  I'm pumped up because I need some big flow pumps that are reliable and less costly than Vortech or Tunze products. (I really like Tunze products, they're just a little outside my price range most of the time, but I do have an Osmolator and it rocks.)  It looks like Hydor has solved many of the problems I've experienced with Koralia pumps.  I like this line of product.  It is innovative as it was the first line of magnetically mounted and affordable prop pumps.  They deserve the sales if they keep improving.  Maybe they'll become one of those products that has real staying power like the Maxi Jets or Iwaki pumps.
